ONLINE EXCLUSIVE — Mayor John Sibert announced that the City of Malibu is pleased to be offering free wireless Internet access to visitors of Malibu Bluffs Park, located at the intersection of Pacific Coast Hwy. and Malibu Canyon Road.
According to Sibert, the new amenity “illustrates the City’s commitment to maintaining its values of nature and modernity.”
Bluffs Park is the first city-owned park at which free internet is provided.
The total cost of the project was $4,620. In fact, the City came in under budget, as the City Council had originally budgeted $8,500 for the project.
Currently, the six-acre Bluffs Park is favorite spot for both locals and visitors to hang out, where it already boasts of two baseball diamonds, a soccer and multi-purpose field, a playground, a jogging path and picnic tables.
The City is also figuring out the budget to implement this new wi-fi amenity at both
Trancas and Charmlee Park, and will be in the works as soon as it is approved.
