Sophomore David Sofaer has one objective when he plays a tennis match: boost his team. “Pepperdine’s whole program is built on investing in your teammates,” he says. “Every practice, we aim to get our team better, get ourselves better.”

Pepperdine’s baseball pitching ace, junior Jonathan Solomon Moscot, more commonly known on campus as Jon Moscot, has had a monster 2012 spring campaign. He has produced First Team All-West Coast Conference numbers and is among the top in many categories within the WCC.
So far, Moscot is second in strikeouts in the conference and has also yet to allow a single home run in any of his appearances.

They say every good thing comes to an end. Luckily, with the end of the season approaching, the Pepperdine women’s volleyball team will not stop experiencing this good thing. With her last season coming to a close, senior Lilla Frederick continues to put her whole heart into this good thing as well.
Before Pepperdine, Frederick graduated from Cornelia Connelly High School in Anaheim, Calif., in 2008. She played three years on the varsity team and was ranked the nation’s No. 41 recruit.

Pepperdine University student Liv Cheng excels in the game of golf and life. While a unique skill set and competitive attitude have elevated her golf career, a friendly demeanor is what sets her apart.
Cheng, 18, maintains friendly relationships on and off the golf course. Last year, Cheng arrived on campus and met her roommate Kelley Larsen, a Pepperdine volleyball player. Instantly, the two clicked since they both devote the majority of their time to sports and academics.

Dubbed “SoCal’s best” and a “Mac of all trades” by Santa Clarita Valley’s Signal newspaper, John “Johnny” MacArthur is a 5-foot-11-inch, redshirt junior golfer for Pepperdine University, and a business administration major.
He graduated from Hart High School in Newhall, Calif., playing three sports: golf, soccer and football. In his senior year, he kicked the 43-yard winning field goal of their football championship, one of the highlights of his career (listen to the radio spot here).
Though MacArthur demonstrates exemplary skill in each of his athletic endeavors, his true passion is golf.

A convoy of student vehicles silently made their way alone through the night. For miles in every direction from the island of light the beams from the headlights created in the canyon, was deep darkness. But for the purposes of all involved, darkness was a boon.

At 66 years old, most people’s leisure activities would likely involve strolls along the beach, reading a good novel at a coffee shop and, of course, the occasional movie night.
